More than four thousand runners took to the streets of Dallas, Texas to take part in the Big D Texas Marathon, despite the rain and severe weather warnings on Sunday April 15 2012. The events which included the 5k, half marathon and marathon took place at Fair Park, Dallas early Sunday morning, even though there had been warnings of severe weather conditions.

On Friday, April 6, Dallas celebrates Good Friday with a chocolate tasting tour, one of many sweet tours through Dallas by Chocolate.

The 5K Run for Human Rights, organised by the Human Rights Initiative, is set for Saturday, March 24 at Bachman Lake Park in Dallas for the second year in a row. The event is the same day as the International Day for the Right to Truth, a day dedicated by the United Nations to honor the memories of the victims of human rights violations, and to promote truth and justice.

Hewlett-Packard recently developed a new green inkjet printer. The printer itself is constructed almost completely from recycled materials, and combined with recycled paper and their new Eco Highlights labels, which will give customers a better idea of available environmentally-friendly HP products and services, HP is helping pave the way for a new wave of green printing services.

On June 1 to June 3, Dallas will see the return of the A-Kon XXIII, a large scale anime convention that has rocked the very foundation of Dallas for over 22 years.

Williamson Printing has a new name: Quad Williamson. After a recent round of asset swapping and cutbacks, Quad/Graphics finished a busy streak with the acquisition of Williamson Printing in Dallas. Though the company declined to respond to an interview in PrintWeek magazine, Craig Faust, President of Commercial and Specialty for Quad/Graphics, did imply that they planned to expand both commercial and specialty printing services, and the acquisition of Williamson Printing was a step in that direction.
